CALL TO ORDER:

February 16, 2009 at 6:30 pm

ATTENDANCE:

OLD BUSINESS:

The 501 (c) (3) applications remains a work in progress. Recently, the IRS requested additional information, which was sent to them last week. Stay tuned……..

NEW BUSINESS:

Plans for the WØ DXCC 2009 Expo were presented to the members. It’s a single day event in Rochester scheduled for Saturday, July 18, and co-sponsored by the TCDXA, MWA, and the Rochester ARC. A cocktail reception on Friday night is planned for those who wish to come down early, and avoid the early drive Saturday morning.

The Saturday schedule is a line-up of well known speakers followed by the DX Banquet Saturday night featuring a tribute to the Desecheo DXpedition. Some lucky DXer will purchase the winning raffle ticket, and will leave the banquet with a Yaesu FT-2000!

Featured speakers: John Devoldere, ON4UN, Carl Luetzelschwab, K9LA, Dean Straw, N6BV, Bob Sherwood, NCØB, Ward Silver, NØAX, Glenn Johnson, WØGJ, Ralph Fedor, KØIR, Bob Chudek, KØRC, Al Dewey, KØAD, and others.

Tom, WØZR, recently worked his last zone (26) on 80 meters in pursuit of the prestigious 5 Band WAZ award. Congratulations!

The MNQP on February 7 was a big hit with county chasers. Pat, KØPC, one of the mobile rovers, reports K9NW in Indiana worked all 87 counties in MN. Wow!

Income: $3200 Expenses $86 Balance: $3114

PROGRAM:

TX5C Clipperton Island 2008 DVD. An interesting video, but like many, they spend too much time covering everything but the actual operating. Most would like to see more time devoted to operating, rigs, antennas, and propagation, and less time to looking like a promotional video from a Travel Bureau.
