TCDXA MEETING MINUTES
Monday, January 19, 2009
The meeting was called to order by the club President,
Mike, NØODK
In Attendance
A “standing room only” crowd showed up for this
meeting!
34 Members, 1 Guest (Frank, N1UW)
The award this month for driving the greatest distance
to the meeting
goes to
Old Business
The application for 501 (c) (3) status is still
pending. The IRS has
requested additional information about the club, so
the saga goes on.
We will continue “patient persistence”.
New Business
Interest in the
Flex 5000 SDR program undoubtedly drew the big crowd.
And, the guys
didn’t disappoint us. KØEOO, WØLS, and
WØPR, did an
outstanding
job of presenting the hardware and software features that
make this
radio the talk of the town. Thanks for
doing a terrific job!
Jay, KØQB
filled the members in on the latest from the league having just
returned from
the ARRL Annual Board of Directors meeting.
Mike, NØODK
addressed the challenge of scheduling programs for the
meetings, and
asked for ideas from the membership.
Anyone who will do a
program, or
has a suggestion for one, please contact one of the officers.
With
the exception of KP5 in February, 2009 is looking like a quiet year for
major
DXpeditions. The down turn in the world
wide economy is no doubt
going
to force some groups to put their plans on hold.
